Contentment...

Yesterday.. my what an interesting day I had.. I got a third email from my darling Husband, and he sounds very excited and really positive about Boot Camp. He sends his love to everyone. I am so thankful that he is so positive about boot camp, because it sure eases my mind alot. I also got to talk to my wonderful Mom in Florida, and we talked for over an hour, just encouraging eachother, alothough I think Mom did more of the encouraging than me.. She is just such a blessing in my life. And I couldn't have asked for a better mother-in-law, But I fondly think of her as my second Mom.. the whole mother-in-law sounds too distant for me.. the name reminds me of those really ugly fish I used to catch, that live on the ocean floor, and are refered to as mother-in-law fish...Don't ask me why they are called that...thats what the fishermen always called them..maybe they had an interesting mother-in law in their family or something... who knows... Today..I had a wonderful day filled with things to keep any person busy..I ripped up a whole stack of cardboard and bundled them up in four bundles, for cardboard pick up day...they were the previous homes of our new excerise in home gym, and bike.It was a gorgeous day out today, very mild (for Canada) a mere -2 degrees. The sun was shining all day long and there wasn't a cloud in the sky until it started getting dark. The air was fresh and crisp..and absolutely lovely. I wandered around outside for a bit, because I love the fresh winter air. Across the road the bay is almost frozen up. I remember one year, when I was about eight or nine, my Dad took my sisters and me down to the bay. Dad laced up all of our skates and then he laced up his speed skates that he had taken with him from Holland, when they used to skate on the dikes and cannels. He told us we needed to wait a minute while he went to check to make sure that the ice was thick enough to skate on,"3 feet should be thick enough" he said, and then we all got onto the ice.The ice was as sleek and flat as ever, I never saw ice that smooth before and still never have. My dad took off on his skates and before we knew it he was a mere speck in the far distance, we tried so hard to keep up, but those skates made him fly so fast! I never did forget us girls exclaiming " Man can our Dad skate fast!!" You know, God is just so incredibly amazing. He also has the most unique ways of saying " Don't worry,my child, I will provide for you everything you NEED. Isn't it so wonderful that our imagination is nothing compared to the Lord's and that He has gone before our tommorows, and our next months, and that no matter what, everything that happens is going to go the way the Lord wants.Isaiah wrote: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts". Isaiah 55:8-9 It's so great to know that we don't need to worry about anything, because the Lord, already knows what lies ahead of us.The biggest lesson that the Lord has been teaching me lately is realizing that I need to put Him before Me, and that God wants me to get rid of my indepenence and hold onto dependence in HIM. It is only when I cry out and say to Him, "God I can't do this anymore, I don't know what to do! Please take over, and do the driving, and I'll be the passenger". As soon as you surrender, it's like peace is washed over you, and you are so joyful and content, knowing that everything is going to work out perfectly , because God is taking care of you. Want to see Him do some really amazingly cool stuff in your life?? Try surrendering your life, your problems, your everything to the Lord, and see exactly how crazy God is about you, your life, and your problems..HE Loves YOU!
