ROAD TRIP!!

I am getting very excited to be going home soon, and see everyone again! The weather has definitely been a little cooler here lately. Over the weekend, we had thundershowers all day Saturday, starting at three am and continuing on into the early part of sunday morning. On Saturday, Jordan and I went on a road trip. Jordan drove and I knit. Our fianal destination was to be Fort Dix, which is an Army and Airforce base. I told Jordan that if he saw something on the way to stop and we would check it out. Well about an hour and a half, or something like that, into our drive, we stopped at an antique store that was on the side of the road, and we went in. The rain was coming down in sheets, when we got there, and we were pretty wet, when we got into the store, just from our little dart out of the truck. Anyways, the antiques stroe had alot of stuff in it, you name it they had it, there was even a locker, from a guy back in the '40's and he had all newspaper clippings, hung up oif different women who were "scantily clothed" ( but in modern times now would be quite modest.) Anyways it was kind of cool, to see from all the little pictures of the models, how much style has changed from the 40's and yet, how some of the things they wore back then, you see quite frequently now a days. I love going to antique stores, because there is so much history, just waiting to be unwrapped under your careful fingers. We ended up buying a set of Websters dictionaries which were published in 1937, and an Encyclopidia set published in 1936. They are going to look really nice on the book shelf we will havein the living room, someday, when we find the one we want. Anyways we also got a wooden elephant that looked like it was pretty desperate for a home, so we gave him ours to live in for a while. About 2 hours later or so, we walked out of there with our highly prized possesions, and went on driving, for about 3 minutes, then we saw an AppleBees and realized that we should probably eat there. Who knows when the next time will be when we have an opportunity to eat there again. When we drove into the parking lot, you'll never guess what we discovered! A Wal- Mart!!! It was so exciting, for those of you who dont know yet, need to know that here the closest thing to a Wal-Mart, is K-Mart, where the prices are way more expensive! Anyways there is hope for us, there is a wal-mart, going in soon, well its there, the stuff , just has to make it there. Well anyways we didnt have time to stop in at wal-mart, becasue we wanted to make it to Fort Dix and see what was all there. We went to the PX/BX , and picked up some things... I forget what though...I think it was mostly for Jordan though, he bought me a magazine, so that was nice. Then Jordan got his hair cut, and I waited for him. Then we left, because thats all there was, that we needed to do. We forgot to bring our coolers to go shopping at the Comissary, and we had just gone grocery shopping last week, so we were not in need of anything too serious. Then we went on our way back home, which seemed like it only took half the time. We did go back to Wal Mart and we bought some carbs for my plants, and a bird feeder for my birds and some food for them, and its very nice to hear them chirping outside. I even had a bird with an orange beak at the feeder this morning, I think it was some type of wax-wing. But mostly I have tree sparrows, and ocassional starling and if there s bread outside a whole flock of selfish seagulls. I love my little back yard. Right now, my house plants are doing a little sunbathing on the porch, I think they love it there. This moring I had to give one of my plants a soap bath because he had little bugs all over him, he looks much more cheerful now.And thats the downlow on my plants. Well that hopefully informed you a little about how things are going here!
